3 gen projector and HID questions

Hi everyone.

I have the 3 gen projectors and 6000K HID kit. They aren't plug yet.

I wanted to know if i should take off the little reflector in the housing of the reflector or should i leave it there ? I've read that it can creates spots so I'd like to know what to do before putting the headlights on the car.

Second question is concerning the high beams. How will I aimed them on the car with my 3 gen? I have the bulb that come with the projector but I can't figure how to wire it with the HID bulbs.

Any help will be really appreciated!
Thanks alot!

NEVER take out the reflectors. But I have one question though. Did you buy the black or chrome housings? Because if im not mistaken, the projectors don't need reflectors.

You have two bulbs on an aftermarket projector housing. The bulb runs separate from the HID's. If you want HID high beams, you have to buy a whole new kit. High beams already should be aimed. They just get brighter and go higher.

Hi everyone! I have the black housing 3 gen projectors. So I will remove the reflectors like yellowltcoupe22 said (thanks for the answer by the way!).

But what I mean by the highbeams, it's because the headlights came with halogen bulb in the highbeam. So I'm not sure how to aim that with my HID kit i'lll be putting in the lowbeam. I know I have to unplugged the lowbeam halogen bulb but with the other, what do I have to do ?

Remember, I'm not a mechanic, just a newbie at that!

Thanks everyone for the help given!

you don't need to aim the high beams.... once you aim the low beams, the highs will be aimed as well... not sure why your making it so hard on yourself.

the high beams on the third gen have an adjustment that is seperate of the low beams. I would adjust the low beams first and then drive to see where the high beams are. most of the time, they are pretty good.
