wanting a turbocharged...
These are cobalt meets btw
Like Gestapo I went from a 2.2 to the SS/TC. It feels like a completely different car, corners far better than my LS did and as said is just more fun overall to drive. That said, I have never driven a 2.4 so I can't speak on behalf of that, but if you're looking primarily for the performance boost then I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.
Btw, nice 2.4, I've always liked black racing stripes on a white vehicle

the tc is a pretty amazing car, all things considering. i think it brings alot of performance to the table, for its price range. ive owned a vette, modded ws6 etc, so its not like ive never owned a fast car. i really like the new ss/tc tho as it is a great DD that can also be a weekend/track car. mine will pull double-duty for me. i traded in my 05 ss/sc and i feel its a significant overall upgrade, even on the 05. im pretty sure you wont regret it. your current cobalt is very nice tho. good luck with your shopping, if you decide to make a purchase.
I went from an LS. It's a huge jump. The performance of the car is crazy. The acceleration and handling are well beyond what the little 2.2 or 2.4 are. I had a fully bolted and tuned 2.2, it was quick but not even near what my SS/TC is.
If you can find a wind damaged or slightly used one that's what I would do. I paid 18,250 for an 09 SS with 82 miles on it. I feel like I didn't get ripped off and love the car to death.

while i don't have a tc, i went from a 2.2 to a stage tuned 2.9 ss/sc, and damn, don't regret a thing. the extra power, handling, braking, everything about the car is so much better. you already havea cobalt, and you're looking for another, so if you like your car now, you'll LOVE your tc. if you can swing the payments, you won't regret your decision. i've been in 2.4's before, and it's going to be a pretty huge difference.

It's like going from a Honda to a Cobalt
Sorry kidding around.
It's a totally different car, even if everyone around you thinks it "looks the same". I hear that every day. Things like " looks like you got your car repainted" are funny. I just grin and move on.

the clutch is ALOT different my clutch on my 2.2 is soft , I can engage it easy but the TC I just suck at , I only have about a year of driving stick under my belt and have only driven stick chevy's and a few eclipses but I just sucked at driving the TC but I was like that at first with my 2.2 so I am sure its just getting used to it, but I think itd take me while and I dont wanna hurt the car lol so I stuck with my 2.2 for the time being. maybe upgrading in the summer.

The car is a blast to drive, providing you have a nice stretch of road ahead cuz it's pretty quick. Some beg to differ but I own a black sedan and I love it's sleeper look, plus the fact that they're pretty rare.
Handling, braking & powertrain are very nice & it generally outperforms all stock sport compacts out there but the MS3. Level of features is ok too, make sure you get the LSD.
Things I don't like :
-rear brakes suck big time.
-overall fit and finish is definitely not class-leading (inside and out).
-ventilation is not very good.
-worrying suspension noises when cold
