2.8 pulley with 60s = more hp than with 42s?
2.8 pulley with 60s = more hp than with 42s?
Well I got a 2.8 pulley with 42# injectors and was wondering if I got a retune from trifecta and some 60# injectors if that would give me more HP. also do MPG go down with 60s? and would I need n e thing else?
Its not about power, its about being safe first.

going faster would depend solely on the tune. Aggressive tuning with 42's and a 2.8 will be asking for a problem since the idc's will be too close to static, and if they do go static, you could do a lot of damage to the engine which you don't want. If you want to make more power, invest in a larger heat exchanger so when you do get tuned you'll have room for more timing. Cooler, denser air will call for more useable timing, which will result in more power.
thanks!! i did buy a OTT H/E just didn't get time to install it as yet.. so I should mention this to vince at trifecta I guess!! wow could always get answers on here thanks guys!!
I would. If you can install it before you get tuned, then great. The heat exchanger will help to bring temps down some, and you should be able to get a little more timing out of it. He'll know what to look for when he locks down your tune.

60's will be more safe than 42's.
To kind of answer what your saying about will you go "faster". I would say yes. (I am using that loosely)
When I had that same setup my duty cyle was around 106% or in the area. When I had stage 2 with a tune I ran a 14.0 at 105, when I got my 2.8" then tuned, and had the 106% duty cycle, I ran a 14.5 at 98. This was because I was leaning out in the top end and it started pulling about 6-10 degrees of timing.
This was just what happened to mine, some people might have no problems with there 42# and 2.8" set up...
