2.4 sc questions

ok so i want to start a thread for all 2.4 SC questions. because i'm almost positive i will be doing this soon and would like a question or two answered. so i thought it'd be a good idea to have an official thread possibly on questions just about SCing your 2.4.

i'll start with mine, do you HAVE to have a full exhaust to put a SC on our cars or is our exhaust good enough to last a little while. now i know i will not see as much gains as i would with full exhaust but could i do it without doing the exhaust?

hey hunter, i've been meaning to ask you. how are you putting out 265 w/ the 2.2? is it just your supporting mods or do you have an aggresive tune/smaller pulley?

also does anyone know about what kind of numbers i could see with the stock 2.4 exhaust with a SC set up? and how much boost would be ideal without a bigger exhaust and what size pulley?

im running a 2.9" pulley. that helps
stick with a larger pulley (3.2-3.4) until you get your exhaust done

yes. the harnesses between the 2.2 and 2.4 are interchangeable. Im not sure if the wires are the same color, but the concept of just finding the one common wire amongst all 4 injectors is the same.

Keep in mind the 265 is BHP not WHP. Hes not actually putting 265 to the wheels. Im not quite sure why he has the bhp listed instead of whp

ya but even that on a 2.2 is kinda up there compared to others. and SC not TC. i really want mine to be at or around 250 whp when it's all said and done. thats my goal. i think it's a fairly easy obtainable goal.

sigh...ive explained several times. I havent gotten it dynoed, so no WHP numbers, but the interceptor is estimating 265bhp based on airflow and timing, so thats the number i have to go by

well i never followed ur build or post so i dont see your explanations. Not to be mean but i dont feel you should post any numbers until you actually had it dynoed. Your interceptor wont be 100% accurate, may not have that much bhp . Then people who do a build like yours and get dynoed and only see 215-220 are going to be dissapointed because their numbers are quite a ways off from yours

220whp is 265bhp with 16% drivetrain loss, so thats actually pretty accurate....and i'd say the interceptor is pretty damn accurate. No different than the differences between one dyn and another dyno, as long as people remember to realize its bhp, not whp

You can have stock but having exhaust work will only make the gains higher when installing the blower

ok cool. just the blower would be enough for me for a little while, until i get more money saved to do exhaust. i know thats kinda the opposite way of doing things (most ppl get exhaust than boost it, but o well)

I've been on stock exhaust for almost 2 years now. Kept telling myself I'd do it later. No problems here...except it sounds like anus partial boost. Full throttle and it's mean.
