Rattling Noise >:0

Hi yall,

First off - the particulars. I have a 40,000Mile 2.2LS (4door) that I drive in rural, North Carolina. I admit, I drive it pretty hard and it is my only car. I have lowering springs and an intake. Within the last few months, I noticed with the car window open, when I hit the gas halfway down, when accelerating, I hear a noise. It is like a sort of rattling noise. Like if you put skittles in a tin jar and lightly shook the jar. Then you hear my intake kick in and it goes away. What is the rattling noise? Should I do anything about this? This may be a "newbie" question but cut me some slack.

Thanks for your help!

could be a snake under your seat...

but check the intake and move it around. make sure its not hitting anything. mine rattled because it bounced around under acceleration.

lol u waranty should be way over 38k!!!! i beleave the waranty is prob at least 50k so i would go into a dealership and ask them to take a look around( if they say its not underwaranty... ask them what it is and after they tell you say i dont want to pay for it and drive off and then u get ur problem handed to you for free :P

Could be the engine pinging.
Try some better gas or a higher octane for one tank and see if it goes away.
Could also have a bad spark plug or a weak coil.
Does it do it every time you put a load on it at lower rpms.
If so maybe a filter cleaning and new plugs are needed.
