View Full Version : How the heck do you remove the hood gas shock? Erod 04-21-2009, 06:21 PM Searched and searched. Clue me in here. grrrr..... Cobalt_1988 04-21-2009, 06:25 PM i believe they pop right out juststickit124 04-21-2009, 06:27 PM flat head....there's a retaining clip around the ball joints, kinda like c clips. Wedge the flat head in there and simply push outward, not a lot of force is required, the retaining clip doesn't come off all the way, just pull. If I still had mine on the car I'd take a pic and show you. utsadude 04-21-2009, 06:28 PM If they are anything like the shocks from the lift gate of my mothers suburban, they have a metal band thing that sort of locks them in. You have to pry that off first and then pop the shock of. Hope that helps you man. D4u2s0t 04-21-2009, 06:28 PM Wrong Section... http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=109153 Just sayin.
