Question Value of a Modified Cobalt ss/sc?

Everyone knows that you never get your money back from all the aftermarket parts you put on your car but what do you guys think about the very limited production ss/sc? GM has plants closing due to cut backs and they were the ones keeping up with the ss/sc demands. In the future after some of these start disapearing from the roads due to accidents and what not the number of the ss/sc's on the road will be very limited especialy the 05's. My question is do you guys think we'll get more money back from our mods than the average Joe due the rarity of the car?

Define very limited. There are two ways. GM intentionaly limits production on the car to a certain number. Or they are sales limited.

I bet its not a low number at all. You have to remember that 05 production for coupes and S/C SS cars was a very short year.

Either way the car is still in production and not old.

I would e-mail GM and ask how may S/C SS were made in 05.

As for GM cutting the 3rd shift, its nothing I would lose sleep over. How many polants run 3 shifts? Not many. They were lucky to do so but if there is an over supply of Cobalts right now--they have to cut supply.

Keep your car for 20 years (garaged of course!) and barely put any mileage on it. Maybe then it will have some collector status.

Yeah I agree it will take time for the value thing to kick in. Kind of like the older 300zx twin turbo. They weren't that big back in the day but now many people are searching for them. I am curious as to how many 05 ss/sc's were made. It's just that you don't see many if any ss/sc's driving around like you would an eclipse or something so it seems limited.

I find the resale question mute for myself because I won't ever do it. Even by the time I decide to buy something else I will still keep my SS. I have had many cars and I love my SS more than all the others. Besides by the time I die it will be a collectors item no matter how much mileage is on it.

I agree.

I have never understood thinking about selling the car at the time you are\ or before, buying it.
