Quick Question About Fuel Injectors and Pulleys
Quick Question About Fuel Injectors and Pulleys
I have a stock 05 SS/SC, and I've been looking into modding it. I'd like to use a 2.9" pulley(modular system from smoothflow), and use 60lb fuel injectors(smaller drive belt, SMG tune, Bosch injector harness).
However, I noticed that Cobalt Addiction recommended 42lb injectors for 2.8" pulleys and larger. I didn't know if it would be a problem to use the 60lb ones with the 2.9" pulley. I would think that the tune would keep the ecu from letting the bigger injectors from causing problems. Am I right? Or do I have to use smaller injectors?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

The bigger the injectors the better. Don't listen to cobalt addiction, depending on the tune you can max out 42lbers on a 2.9inch pulley let alone a 2.8.
Grab the 60lbers however I would recommend finding someone who can CUSTOM tune you with hptuners, or buying the program yourself and then having someone sell you/send you a tune.
What is the tune going to cost you at smg?
I recommend the ottp stage 1 kit as its a VERY good deal over all and very safe/reliable.

Alright, thanks guys. I kind of figured I was right, and I'll definitely check out the OTTP and RAW stage kits. OTTP looks good, but I don't really know about swapping out whole ECUs, and I've never been taught how to tune a car, much less have the equipment to do it.
I'm not sure what a custom performance tune at SMG costs. I'd have to call and ask. They're close by(two towns away), and I figured they'd be the easiest to talk to.
