looking to buy a downpipe this week and was just wondering how difficult everyone else thought the install of an aftermarket downpipe was on the ss/tc?

looks like im probably going to go with the hahn catted downpipe and it seems like it wouldnt be that much of a bitch to install.

my cars fairly new, bought at the end of jan 09, so im figuring things arent too rusted on the stock downpipe, which would be my only real PITA part of taking out the stock.

i dont have access to an actually car lift but i have a decent floor jack where i can put the car up more than high enough to fit myself underneath with plenty of room and another person if i need any help holding something on.

so is it actually a fairly routine install or did anyone find the whole thing to be a PITA?

its not too hard. just the bolts ar really tight.

but for 2 or 3 of the bolts. have the biggest extension u can get. and have possible a joint bolt.

long extension talkin like a 12 in extension. trust me it is proly the only way u can get it.

have short sockets and long sockets..

what about the bolts, any idea how much torque when tightening them back on, or just skip the torque wrench and put them on as tight as i can tell evenly?

LOL, mine were barely finger tight...

The O2 sensor, however, seems to have been put on with a ton of force

the install is easy as anything...Just putting it back on might suck. I found it easier to remove the studs on the turbo and then screwing them back in when you line up the dp to the turbo.

It was a lot quicker putting it back on with no cats in the way  My car is only 5 months old and I still bought a can of PB Blaster and sprayed the crap outta the bolts. They are usually really tight from the factory anyway.

It went smoother than the countless midpipes I have put on about 20 mustangs.
