have a question on a redline oil change

so i recently just bought this car and the oil was pretty dirt. so i decided to do a oil change. so i was reading and they said it take 6.5 quarts. so i put that in then i jack it down let it run to build pressure shut off check and it half quart low. so i ended up putting in 7 to make it full. now when im in first gear and its kind of cold it will blow white smoke out. is this due to over filling it cause 7 quarts is a **** load for a 2.0l

White smoke is usually coolant but if you are all of a sudden smoking it could be excess oil being pulled through the PCV into the intake and burned. Try draining that half quart out and see what happens.

Were is the oil on the marker when you pull the oil check stick? I would also see about getting this moved over to the LSJ section for more help.
