"SS" Seat Color Change

Okay, so I have a vic red SS/TC and I have the black/red interior combo.

The only part of the interior that has been bugging me is the fact that the embroidered SS's on both the driver's seat and passenger's seat were white.

My question is this:

Does anyone know what I could use to dye the SS's red so it will match the rest of my color theme?

I've seen that dupli-color has interior fabric paint, but it seems as if that would get ALL over the place being that it is in spray can form. Trust me, I DO NOT want to screw this one up as if you do, then you're royally screwed.

So, let me know if you guys have worked with any interior dye and what suggestions you would have for dying the SS's from white to as close as possible to Victory Red.

Thanks!

If you use a sharpie i bet it would turn out to be pink, the problem is how it embroidered on, the threads will soak up alot of the ink. I have these seats in my HHR but mine is not an SS and i want to either black out the SS or if possible them removed with out damaging the seats.

There was a guy I knew that had a red ss/sc that did his with a red sharpie. I thought he actually went and had it sewn like that. He said it never gets on his clothes or anything like that

You can buy red dye at any fabrics store such as Jo-Ann or something. Just mask off the leather and apply it in small amounts with a foam brush. Let it soak in and dry.

You will likely want to disassemble the seats and pull the leather cover off of the foam to do this.

On the new SS seats there is no leather around the SS emblem, at least that how it is on the HHR SS seats.

dont do the dye it was rub off after time trust i did it to my headliner and after time the **** would rub off...... plus on a hot day the dye will soak onto your back. save your money and just mask off the seats and spray the duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint that stuff is the **** when it comes to fabric and panels.

Don't laugh... That would be perfect! Great color match and neat.. No mess or other "dye" issues.

Those spray can nozzles send paint all over the place (the way the fan is). I need something narrow and concise!

It might be better to leave it. It looks alright now, but if you screw it up or its not PERFECTLY matched, its not gonna look good.

Use the dupli color touch up paint, you can get the exact color of your car.
