help with projectors

MODs, sorry if this is in the wrong section

i have 1st gen projectors and they are relatively aimed well except i dont know why there is more light coming out of my left headlight:

if anyone can explain how to even them out or make the right headlight brighter- id really appreciate it

your aiming on those is actually pretty ideal man, you can fine tune it a little, but it that was me? i would leave it! as for the right one being brighter, i would carefully take the bulb out, check it, and reinsert it, could just not be all the way in, if one is brighter than the other i would see the vendor that sold you the HID's because it would be the bulbs fault not your projector housing

believe it or not its the stock halogens- factory freak halogens if you ask me- anyways, do you think i should contact the seller about a bad housing?

or should i risk taking the bulb out and possibly "void" my warranty?

and since im in here and some people are replying (thanks)-

noob question- but i have HID ballasts already mounted in my car and i was wondering if i can hook ANY HID bulb to them

are the bulbs sealed in there or something!? the warrenty wouldnt cover the actual bulbs, it would cover the houseing, if one of your bulbs burnt out they wouldnt send you new ones, but if you had housing problems or halo problems then im sure they would cover that, but as for taking the bulb out....go for it!

as for the ballast question its not a noob question... its a good question that i would also like to know haha

alright i will check em to make sure they are tight.
and when i was putting turn signals into the passenger side housing it didnt lock into position, so it is just kind of sitting there... weird that its on the same side as the dim headlight?

think i should notify and request a replacement?

The bulb is sitting a little **** eyed in the housing or the cutoff shield is sitting too low and blocking too much of the light output. Pull the bulb out, make sure there is nothing on the mounting surface of the bulb or housing (little bit of grit or excess plastic), reinstall and check.

As far as the bulbs being "factory freaks"? That's how projectors look with any bulb, it's the projector part that gives the nice clean cutoff, not the bulb itself. HID's won't change that but they will bump up the overall light output by quite a bit

nice :P

ill check on the bulb just before sunset and move it around a bit.
hopefully i dont have a defective headlight

ok i just went ahead and took the bulb out and it is just the way it is sitting in the housing- how do i rotate the bulb and keep it at that angle?
the bulb itself is just aiming too high, and the shield seems to be in good shape

I'm almost positive the HID ballast will work with any HID bulb.

QFT. I have not seen a set that was close to perfect, some are better, some are waaaaaay worse. Don't really expect to either since thay all come from the same "Offshore Manufacturers" regardless of who sells them.

Would not bother, you might end up with worse.

There is a bit of variation in the bulbs too, you might find a different bulb will be just that little bit more one way or the other and improve (or degrade) your light output.

Overall, they look a hell of a lot better than the factory light pattern
