07 major brake pulsation
07 major brake pulsation
I have an 07 SC with 24k miles, I just got new tires put on. Before they were on, i had a slight pulsation when braking, like the rotors were warped. Now with the new tires, the pulsation is really bad.. its only when im about 15-20mph and slowing.
I spoke with a mechanic and explained it to him, I said, how do I know if its a tire issue or rotor. He said an easy way is to do about 15-20 and use the ebrake. If there is no pulse/bounce. Well sure enough, i did that and was smooth as silk.
Thoughts on what this might be? the rotors?
Its not alignment because it drives nice and straight. I am not a hard driver either.. but I do drive mainly city with average speed of 22mph (thanks to computer for noting that)
Its mainly alot of stop and go through center city...
Thanks for your input before I spend the money on rotors/pads

Using the ebrake proves its the front brakes. The fact it happens when you use the brakes is how you know its not tires.
If it got worse after your tire install its because A:debris got behind the rotor when the wheels were removed and rotors werent secure, and now rotor is secured down with dirt on its mating surface. B: the wheels were improperly torqued. C: combination.
You need to service your front brakes it sounds like. Either get current rotors machined and then properly clean and reassemble, or get new rotors and properly install.

do you have stock wheels or aftermarket wheels? i had a similar problem to yours and i thought it was my brakes. it turns out my aftermarket wheels were missing hubcentric rings and it caused my entire car to shake badly whenever i braked. it wasnt very noticeable during high speed driving.
had this same problem. Steering wheel would shake like a ******* black woman's ass in a rap music video.
I headed off to germany and left my car with my bro so he could drive it aroud and have better gas mileage for a month.
I told him about it and I said it was probably the rotors. He replaced them and said its perfectly fine now.... but I will see when I get back cuz I trust no one.

I have stock wheels.. I bought new rotors but need to get the pads tomorrow. I will be replacing them all this weekend, will let everyone know what happens. What is the torque for the front wheels? Might as well ask before I do this so I know.
Thanks
