No.

Scratch X will more than likely not take that out.

OP, take it to a body shop and have them determine what needs to be done.

And try not to hit mailboxes.

Use a rubbing compound to take off the crap that's stuck to the car, but be careful not to go to crazy because you can go through the clear coat and dig into the paint then you'll be screwed. After you've removed all the foreign material from the surface use a good polishing compound to bring back the high gloss shine.

had something similar happen to me with one of those plastic reflectors that was nailed to a telephone pole. I smeared it all down the side of my car backing out of my driveway. I used one of those powerballs that you attach to a cordless drill to do the buffing. It's a pretty safe way to keep the heat down when polishing so you don't burn through the clear coat.

I have a black car and it turned out perfect, no evidence of boo boo anymore.

PS: I recommend doing the rubbing compound step by hand with a soft lint free cloth so you can control how much material your taking off. After you get all the junk off the car the area's you rubbed will look really hazy, but don't worry the polishing compound will buff it right out. And when your all done, put a nice coat of wax over area you polished.

To be honest with you lacquer thinner will take it right off. Or if you have a buffer that will work too

Use a watered down laquer thinner to take that off. Once its off, wash and wax the area thoroughly.

Make sure that you are getting laquer thinner and not paint stripper. If it has Methylene Chloride, don't use it.
