current value for 2005 ss

I have a 2005 black SS with sunroof, but without the LSD and about 20000KM on it and I plan on maybe selling it to buy an STI. I love the car, but I want something a little faster that would also be good in the winter. Do you guys know what price I should ask for? or any of you guys interested in it? I live in montreal, quebec by the way

Private buyer would be your best bet, value of your car would be running around $15,000 CAN. (black/red book)

Cobalts don't hold any value. Besides it being my first bought car and that I love it, I would never sell it because you would get screwed on it.

Figure it to be worth about 50-60% of what you paid for it...add maybe 10% more if you sell it private party. That said, ask for more and hope to get lucky.

I have no idea why kbb STILL doesn't list the '05 SS on its site for trade-in value.

Kelly Blue Book is a dealerships dream and a consumers nightmare.

Heres how they do things:
Private Party Value = Low
Trade In Value = 100% Bullshit Low
Retail/Dealer Value = Extremely High

When selling privately the book prices matter, as for trade in most dealerships will try to screw you. Book price must only matter on there cars, trade in value no longer exists since they can go buy POS cars at auctions.

the depreciation on a vehicle for the first year is roughly 30%, by the end of the third you your car has lost 50% of its value, and over the next 5 years it will loose another 30-40%

i WISH the dealers around me would use kbb for trade ins. they use some other bs book pricing that's even lower than kbb . kbb is a good deal compared to what i usually get on a trade in.

I know, that's why I said private party add 10%. All depends on milage as well as condition, so I was trying to give a range. Of course, value may be even higher because this seems to be a failry in-demand car right now.

Add money if you have a transferable extended warranty, as well...or cash it in and buy yourself something nice.

deduct value if you plan on trading it in
