Hey guys, fairly new here just need some input on the situation i have here, so today when i pulled up to my house my dad hears something weird, i open up my hood and he tells me to give it a lil rev and as the cars reving down he hears a ticking noise, it sounds like its coming from the tensioner pully not the engine, and i went to a local shop and they said the same...... has anyone ever experienced anything like this????? Im about to get Ottp's stage 1 tomrro, so if i do can i just pick the tensioner pully option if thats the problem??????

 

i have the same problem been chasing it down for over a month and today got a stethoscope out and its my tensioner clicking.. so i guess ill just replace it

 

bring it to the dealership and ask them to take a look at the timing chain. Timing chain and head gasket seems to go on the cobalts...mine went at 30,000km. Same sound

 

Yep timing chain tensioner would be my guess. I had to replace mine around 25K miles.....was doing exactly what you describe.

 

thanks guys i will get it checked out today.... i work at napa so i have the part ready to install, another quick question though, if i replace the tensioner do i have to replace the guides as well or will they be ok. Thanks again guys

 

I actually had a beeping from one of the injectors..? lol Just as fast as it came, it went. Who knows?

 

it sounded like there was a bolt flying around in the supercharger both times i had it replaced =/.
