Projectors

Well..... I purchased a set of projectors (for $130) from a member here and it turns out I got screwed. The coating is coming peeling and one of the projectors is out of its mounts. Someone please tell me that I do not have to take apart the assembly in order to get it back in the mounts again. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about the peeling?

use plastic auto cleaner...and yes you will probably have to seperate the lense. it's really easy to do.

LOL..... yeah I've heard a few horror stories from people being screwed over. I'm not surprised, just pissed off. Because I now have to try and fix them or sell them and take a big loss because I know no one will pay what I paid for them.

the clear coat pealing off is very very common on the 3rd gen halos, two gues here who have had them for a while now their are pealing, and also the lens cracked.
3 more fellers just got theirs ad no issues yet...
as for taking them appart its really easy put them in your oven one at at time at a decently low heat but still hot. so like 250-300 degrees and after about 5 mins remove them and try pulling them appart if they dont come apart easy, put them back in for a few more mins and do it again if again still not easy put them back in just keep doing that till you can.
when you put them back together use a clear or black window silicone thats what i used.
good luck as long as ou take your time and dont rush things you will do ok.
