Power Band?

So I have a set of 78lb supertech valve springs that are going on my ported head along with some neutral balance shafts. What I am wondering is where the m62/lsj stops making power. Will the car create power as far as I push it? How far can I push it? From what I have "heard" the 78lb supertech valve springs are good to 8000rpms but will the motor keep gaining power all the way through or is it going to fall off after 7500ish? Also, can I go HIGHER then 8grand with the valve springs?

I have searched for awhile on this and haven't found anything and my guru's aren't on aim this early so let me know guys thanks.

PS: The motor build isn't going to start for awhile, I decided to let my porter keep my head until he gets his flow bench so that way he has a ported head he can flow test and so I can make sure the air flow is equal throughout all the cyl's.

Cams play a bigger part than everything you have mentioned.

Every car is different but my guess is you will make peak power around the 6800 mark.

Once you put it on the dyno that will let you know where you should shift.

Good point, I guess I will just put her on the dyno and find out. 8grand is "safe" with neutral balance shafts and valve springs though right?

Not sure if internals making more power...i think they ALLOW you to make more power but not give it. With my m62 i was making max power at 6850rpm

Yep we know that. He's gonna be revving out to 8 on stock cams. Power will fall off I guess between 6800-7100.

If you are not going to run cams, the M62 will not make power all the way to 8K. The TVS might have a chance, but the GMR will help out greatly with it.

Are u gettin cam gears? and ur peak power usually stops around 6800 like sean said but it holds it for a while so even if ur not making peak power at 8k u may still be holding it for that much longer.

Not true. I have a redline of 7200rpm. I made peak power at exactly 7200rpm. I'm converted to turbo though.

You having a turbo makes a huge difference as to where your power bands will peak.
