help please

I have a 06 ss/sc i am running a 2.8 pully on what i believe are the stage 2 injectors. My long term fuel trim is at about 17 and it threw a p0171 long term fuel trim lean. i was wondering what i should do to prevent this from happening more.

Thanks

Are you using the stage 2 tune? Or is it a custom tune?

Stage 2 tune on a 2.8 can be a little iffy.

flip the pcm over, it will have a sticker on the back if it is a canned tune, if it has no sticker with a place on it other than the stock sticker then your either on a stage 2 GM tune or a custom tune.

But were really trying to figure out if its a stage 2 or custom.. which without hptuners can be hard to figure out... unless you bring it to the dealer..

well if it is a GM Stage tune then it should have the GM hub and pulley and/or GM injectors which have green tops, if none of that is evident than it could be an aftermarket stage kit which would require the PCM to be sent in and retuned which they would send back and it would have a sticker on the back of the place that retuned it and the vin would be below that as well

GM stage injectors have black tops .... the stock ss/sc injectors have the green tops.

hmm, must have gotten em backwards, lol. either way, it is an easy way to eliminate a possible option, just lift the pcm up without disconnecting it and look for a sticker, that eliminates one possibility, the gm hub is another way, sounds like it could possibly be a custom tune gone to lean tho

does it say anything on the pulley, to get an idea of where the pulley came from?

or just look at the injectors...if they're all black and kinda skinnier looking they're 60's if not you best take that pulley off for a 3.0

he's got a point, if your looking for a way to solve the lean issue regardless of what stage you have then going to a bigger pulley will definitely fix the problem, recommend a 2.9 or 3.0

ZZP offers pulleys in the 5 bolt pattern.

Smoothflow offers GM or 5 bolt hubs / pulleys.

Does the pulley have any bolts on it? If not.. it is the stock pulley.

Have you checked your injectors yet?
