about ready to sell this american junk!

Rrrrrrr.......... this car is really getting me mad. about 4 weeks agog the belt tensioner went and that was like $235 from the dealer so i got zzp adjustable tension er and a 3.0" pulley. now last night the flex pipe freakin broke because i hit a pot hole WTF! the cd player sometimes dosent eject, sway bar links are on there way out, trim piece around the sunroof keeps popping out, sometimes neither door handles work and u get trapped inside, and paint on the trim is all peeling off! the only thing good is it looks cool and is fun to drive. its only an 05 and just rolled over 60k and its not a D/D. grant it its not likes its not reliable or runs rough but its all this stupid crap. and i work on cars all day everyday and ive seen how american quality has drastically gone down over the past few years thats y i did not get a new one and leaned for an older one but i guess i was wrong.

if this breaking continues the car is getting a for sale sign

F U GM! I HOPE U GO UNDER!!!

Well... you broke the flexpipe yourself, not the cars fault. The tensioner is a wear item... it's bound to happen to most at some point.

If you don't like the car then get rid of it... but it's 4 years old now and 60k miles **** is going to start going wrong at some point.

AND **** YOU, I as well as most wouldn't want to see GM go under!

Tell us how you really feel? Man there is a whole lot of crying about **** breaking lately. Its a car, **** happens. What...you don't think Nissans or Honda's or Mazdas break?

My buddy's Mazdaspeed 3, while he was going 35 miles an hour, had a engine mount break on a 17K mile car. His engine literally fell and his car was out. That is evidently a common problem that had to be recalled on the MS3.

Every car has problems. Especially one with 60K miles.

PS I don't want to see GM go under. Quit being sandy.

seems like the '05 ss/sc's were less reliable. i have an '06 ss/sc, been rock solid. had a wheel speed sensor go out, and a boost gauge had to be replaced. both under warranty, without any questions (not even a 'do you want us to replace them under warranty?') they were just replaced. seems to me 95% of the problems happen to the '05's.

its 60k miles witch isn't alot anymore. my 99 jeep is coming on 170k and the only money i spend on it is PM. and flex pipe should not break from hiting a bump cause its not like a actually physically hit the pipe. and the tentioner to wear out at 60k..... C'mon yhea its going to wear out put i wouldnt expect that till like 100k.

The first model years of any car seem to have the most bugs... and they continue to get improved as each year progresses.

LOLs but I did have a 2006 SS/SC before this one... and NEVER had an issue not even a CEL (besides my tune fuckkup)

like 1badblueberrysc said and as will i when a car of this performance hits 60k or even 30k things are bound to start wearing out. i own a 06 with 28k on her and i have already had problems espically my last one was the sunroof motor taking a **** on me, but it was replaced underwarranty so im ok, but what im trying to say is any car i dont care who there from will have problems...its just life my man ok so relax. i had a 93 integra gsr before my cobalt and let me tell you i spent over 1200 dollars easly on that car and still had problems....and yes the flex pipe was your fault because you didnt watch were you were going. I have a zzp 3in catless dp and have no problems at all on it.

yeah its a 05 so it will have the most issues. Sounds like those are fairly easy things to fix though. the doors wont open because of the electric opener or the handle itself wont open?

First model years always have issues, I have a 06` ss/sc I had the door handle issues, fixed under warranty, sunroof issues, fixed under warranty and thats been it! Once you start modifying on your care it puts extra stress on components and you should expect stuff to wear out like your tensioner, as far as the zz downpipe thats not GM`s fault. If you really dislike the car that much sell it and buy something else.

my 05, only had a couple small issues.

if its a factory downpipe take the car for warrenty, the flexpipe is covered under the 8 year 80k mile emissions warrenty

i have an 06 ss/sc with 181,000 km's on it, my only problem EVER with the car was a broken flex pipe.
i take it to the track about twice a month in the summer, about maybe 40-50 runs total.

I LOVE THIS CAR

and i would by a new ss/tc if i ever total this one!!!

are u serious its not a Daily driver and rolled over 60k? i have an 06 with 42k and i daily drive it, race it once a week, i believe the exhaust system is covered under warranty until 80k or some bullshit. belt tensioner is a wear item, get the sand out of ur vagina, just like whoever said it. its the first year the ss/sc came out, there will most likely be issues to have worked out. that being said its 4-5 years old and even if its not a daily driver. if u just let a car sit there all the time not in a temperature controlled environment, ur going to have issues even more. go buy a kia

EVERTYTHING BREAKS! Anything man-made WILL break. I understand that youre mad, but really....saying "**** You GM" on a Cobalt site, isnt the smartest thing to say.

Your cars is over 4 years old and you expect it to have no problems? GM is one of the biggest companies in the USA, if it goes under we probably will too.

5 years old, 60k miles, first model year for a new car. How do you NOT expect to have had more significant problems than that already?

GM has always been known for having poor quality the first few production years. Honestly the only car manufacturer I would trust buying a first year model from is BMW...

Really? Bmw? Hahaha enjoy paying your oil changes and cat's it is the most craziest overpriced **** I have ever seen. And no any car company who has ANY car will always have problems at first. Remember the 2010 camaro had electrical problems the first 500 or so.

Just because parts are expensive does not mean theyre unreliable.

And how does oil cost more for a bmw? Royal Purple has no idea what kind of car you're putting the oil in when you buy it. And if you're bringing the car to the stealership or anywhere else to get the oil changed, then you obviously have the money anyway so why would it matter?
