06 2.4L non supercharged traction control & check engine lights

My traction control light came on a little over a week ago, my husband had drove my car to the store and when he came home it was on. he turned the car off and back on and it went off. A day or so later i was driving down the road and it came on again while it was on i had really hard shifting and it felt realy loose. A few days later the check engine light and the traction control lights came on at the same time. I went and got the car scanned at auto zone when they scanned it the traction control light wasnt on so it didnt give a code but the check engine gave code P0013 and the print out said Camshaft position(CMP) actuator solenoid fault .Explanation The ECM has detected an open or short circuit condition in the CMP actuator solenoid, and ten it said probable causes Open or short circuit condition or Failed CMP actuator solenoid.

What does that many and what should I do to repair it. I have an extended warranty but it cost me $100 deductable to get anything fixed through the dealership. if its something i can repair on my own and save money great if not I'll just have to suck it up and take it in. only mods I have are K&N cold air intake, and jet stage 2 performance module. right after i installed the module i got a running rich code then it went away. would the module be causing the engine light again?any ideas this is my only vehicle and I have 2 small kids I cant be without a car or it break down on me with them in it. thanks

My 2.4L did the same thing too except is was a P0172 code.....Running too lean......I had an intake at the time and im pretty sure that is what caused it.The mass airflow sensor detected too much air.....I took the intake off and never have had the issue again.....Try unplugging your battery for about 1/2 hour and then clearing the codes in the computer again, even if there are none......I have heard this will let your computer recalibrate for the extra intake air......

thansk i had the running too lean when i put the JET stage 2 module on there and after a week it went off and hasnt come back on since. i got the code for the check engine light and it has something to do with the cam shaft. we are looking into trading for the 09 turbocharged instead of having to fix it thanks for the reply
