Oil change

I've looked around the in forums and only found 2.2L and 2.0L information about oil changing.

Anyways I was wondering how much the LE5 takes. The dealer is saying 7.4 quarts = 7L can anyone confirm what it is on the LE5 2.4L cobalt SS.

Thanks.

I was pretty sure that the LE5 takes only 5 quarts of 5W30... That's all my dealer ever charged me for for an oil change...

Mine takes 5 and a bit (litres) for a full oil and filter change, never more than 6.

Dump out old oil, change filter, 5 litres in, start and leak check, shutoff and final level check / adjust.
Always end up with a part bottle left over if I buy 6 x 1 litre bottles.

Is the oil filter located on the top or bottom of the Cobalt SS 2.4L 2007?

Front of the block, access from topside, same as the 2.2

Be glad you don't have a blower on there, it would seem to be a real bitch with the m62 in the way - not that I would mind having that "problem"

Yep.

Remove oil cap, pop off the cover. It snaps onto 2 rods, one at back on pass side, one at front right by the dipstick.

Make sure there is no crap around the oil cap area before you pull the cap, don't want anything falling in there when you pop the cover loose.

If you can find the how to for the 2.2, it will be exactly the same.
