Rubbing sound/ grind after part install...

I recently installed a few things. I had my summer tires put back on (stock perelli's) and I installed the DC sports strut bar and the ingall's torque brace. When I am driving strait or turning right everything is fine. however when I turn left medium to hard you can hear a metalic type grind noise. Nothing serios enough for me to say "OH **** somethings F'ed UP!" But enough to make me worry and make this post. I believe I even heard it last night before the torque brace was installed although it seems to be more predominant now. I think maybe cause my car is cold. I am about to take a drive with my brother to get a second opionion, but I was hoping if anyone had any idea's what could cause this or if its bad please let me know. Heres my torque brace installed, IM sure I did everything right.

By that pic the install looks wrong! The rubber O ring has to go between the dampner rod and bracket. The install should be bolt end=> dampner end=> o ring=> bracket=> nut. Also make sure to adjust the length of the dampner so that it goes in easily and the heim joint sits flush with the bracket. PM if you have anymore trouble

It was definately the Torque brace. We took it off and all was fine. I actually just tested it the way it is and wow it does make a hell of a difference. I will fix what you mentioned below as I have it

bolt end=> O ring => dampner end=> bracket=> nut.

I will do what you mentioned above. I think originally we had it way too tight. I losened it and it fit up perfect. Got it on, and only noticed a small rubbing/grinding sound which my brother says he experienced when he had his installed. If I have the o ring in the wrong spot, chances are thats probably some of the noise. I will fix that and update

OK back from my trip.

Can someone explain what the noises sound/feel like once the torque brace is installed?

Heres what Ive noticed so far:

1.) When flooing 1st and getting up high in the RPM's, the doesnt start to wheel hop/lose traction.

2.) In the same scenerio above as I shift into second there is no longer a hard thud like I used to get.

3.) Shifts feel much smoother, and feel like they hold power better then before.

4.) feels much more stiffer and stronger in first.

I also can feel under my gas peddle foot some slight vibrations. Nothing nasty, but I can feel it and I dont know if thats good or bad.

I primarily notice this when Accelorating really high in the RPM's or between 3000-4000 RPMs. Also sometimes when taking a turn.

During normal cruising or driving it doesnt feel any different then without the brace

I want someone else to verify that as you blew your axles with your torque brace in place

sounds like every that should happen to me i dont have one but think about it its stiffining your engine up by connecting it to the car better its supposed to get rid of wheel hop and that loud thud you heard before was probally your engine hitting the extent of its movement in short its fine

So everything is fine? The way you had it installed originally would have made the nasty noise.

well it still seems to make noise especially when the car is cold. Its like a rubbing noise. metal on metal rubbing. Its not bad and not there all the time. As above its mostly when the car is cold, and also sometimes when you take a turn. The rubbing noise can also be "Felt" in the car. I can feel it under my drivers foot sometimes. its very slight but I am very perceptive. As I said its not like anything feels wrong or the car wont turn, or it stutters. It feels fine minus what is mentioned above. I just dont know what to compare it too. Ive heard people say they have "HEARD" vibrations, but I "FEEL" them under my foot sometimes, and in the turns/cold engine format. Does this sound normal, or could something still be off? I left the brace at the stock thing, I measured 12.5 mm from outest most ring to the other outest most ring.

as far as on the road, wow I think I said this somewhere before but you no longer start to wheel hop when going from a 20 mph roll, it keeps you on the ground and when shifting into second no hard thud. Pretty sweet. It definately works, but I dont want it to be working too good and break my mount, or break an axle.

i got the same problem as u do

my question is that:

i have the bolt and nut put on the opposite way as u do, (pretty sure instructions that it came with said to do bolt end -> bracket -> washer -> o-ring ->TB -> nut)

other question, we r not suppose to use the washers? y hasnt turbotech told me anything about this?

Anyone able to say if what I am experiencing should be considered normal or not? Do I have reason to worry?

When you attach something to your chasis that is meant to limit motor movement, the chasis will be absorb that movement along with the part (dampner). It is going to make noise. I just attached mine tonight, took away the the wheel hop almost completly on the strongest setting but the motor noise is more apparent. Nothing abnormal.

old style or new style brackets? the old style brackets rub against the motor mount turning left, fix is to take a torch and make the holes bigger, so you can slide it over away from the mount, do a search for it, someone posted it a while back. if it is the new style brackets, then i dont know... i have the old ones, actually snapped the lower one into 2 pieces, so i milled a new one, with 1/4" steel...... no more problems

Me and my bro took of both the strut bar and torque brace. I still have that noise. Its mainly noticable when the car is cold and/or you turn the car all the way in one direction and give it gas. I tested this in a parking lot by going in a circle. Also happends on U tunrs and some regular turns. I will take it into my dealer to get checked out. I wonder what would cause this. Still goes over bumps and stuff fine and even drives fine.

I had said that the problem started after getting my new tires/installing torque brace/strut bar. Well guess what? I went to the track and there where 55 lbs of air in all 4 of my tires... OMG it says on the door should be 32. I dropped it down to about 30 and so far havent heard it. Actually went to the track and got 4 runs in and no problems. So I guess that was my problem.
