Royal purple is garbage. The new Castrol synthetic claims to be "8X better than Mobil1". I would do some research on that, but forget RP!

It helps to be friends with the owner's son and the workers of the local parts chain in Charleston.

lol @ you guys thinking different fully synthetic oils give you hp. my dad owns an oil company. fully synthetic is fully synthetic. all brands are the same. if you don't believe me go look at a bunch of fully synthetic oil cases. notice where they all come from. same place. same stuff is inside each. certain companies just advertise more and make there prices higher or pay car companies to put MOBILE1 on the cap.

who started royal purple? a bunch marketer guy. got people to invest in it then showed you graph's of it giving you hp. reality is from one fully synthetic oil to the next can not give you HP if it's the same type. 5w-30 fully synthetic in all companies is the same. royal purple pays people to show you a graph showing it gains 5whp-10whp. do you really honestly buy into that ****? if so your a complete idiot for paying more money for mobile1 or royal purple fully synthetic oil.

sorry if i am breaking anyone's heart or if you don't believe it.

Where did we say anything about horse power?

In fact, your post is the only one in this thread that even has the mentioning of "hp"...

And no, not all oils are the same.. there is wear test thread in the lounge that has about 12 different oils in it.. It has the specifics on how big a mark was made in the test, how deep, how thick the oil layerd itself to the surface.. all that good stuff...

But thanks though.

You can't gain hp from oil. However, you can limit friction and heat loss to make your engine more efficent.

i am just telling people know. some think they can gain hp off using royal purple. i've run into many people who think that in person and i have told them you can not gain hp from going from mobile 1 to royal purple. or any other fully synthetic oil 5w-30 to another one. there all the same. fully synthetic 5w-30 is synthetic 5w-30.

Friction robs horsepower. Creating less friction will produce more horsepower. Watch the video's below Can't get much more "Real World" testing then just pouring and dynoing.

i have seen a royal purple engine and a mobil1 engine torn apart side by side and there is a night and day difference. the royal purple engine was much cleaner internally and none of those components had any heat discoloration. mobil1 is garbage, i switched over to royal purple after i seen that and i love the hell out of it. whomever things royal purple is garbage is a moron.
