WTF!! 5th gear is hard to get into?!

So i noticed the other day that while shifting it felt a little different. well after a while it stopped wanting to go into 5th gear. in order to get it into 5th i have to lift up the reverse lever and get it into 5th then let go and the reverse lever falls down. So its almost like 5th gear/ all my gears moved over to the right a lil bit... What would cause this? anybody know?

Could've messed up the shifter cables (linkage) (typically happens when you shift too hard). From what I hear it's usually worse, like you lose 2nd and 4th, or 1st, 3rd and 5th...

I do find that 5th is not "hard" for me to get into, but it is quite a bit to the right to get in there...it's so damn close to 3rd.

I've had it happen to me with reverse . I had to sit in a parking spot and keep messing around for 10 minutes one time. Then like magic it just dropped right in and i haven't had a problem since . Very weird.

same thing happened with mine i took it too my dealership after taking off the cup holder and seeing the bent linkage. if you take the cup holder off it will most likely be the linkage on the right that is bent. take it to the dealer, they will warrantie it thats what happened with mine

You probably just need to adjust the left cable.

The shifter cables are adjustable by taking out the cup holder and releasing the tab on the cable ends. You can then adjust the shifter position. If you are to far to the left with the shifter you will not be able to get 5th gear, also if the cables are adj. to far you will not be able to lock the tab back in on the cable end. Just some place to start. Did you check to see if the cables were bent?

you might want to have your fuel filter changed, its fairly easy on the SC cars, idk bout you TC guys, I know that mine does this everytime it gets around time to change that filter, CEL will come on when im below 1/2 tank, and will go off if I fill it up.

l8r,
