Coolant smell

Yea got a coolant smell in the inside of my car. Doesn't smell through the vents or inside the engine bay.

So I guess there is probably a leaky line inside the car somewhere? The carpets are not wet all all, but I just want to know what I should most likely be looking at.

Thanks.

Yea that's what I was figuring. I have a warranty so I'm not to worried, but I like fixing **** myself.

Where exactly is the heater core? Behind radio? or driver, passenger side?

i don't know exactly, but generally it's behind the center/passenger side dash. usually a pita to get to.

edit: according to my haynes manual for ions, it's behind the lower center dash.

Chances are it's not your heater core...my car did this exact same thing you're describing right after I was a little too hard on it. Got it checked out, everything was fine and the coolant smell went away finally. If you've still got warranty, fixing it yourself is a bad idea cuz you could end up voiding it and you may need it down the road again. My suggestion....take it back to the stealership and let them give it a once over and then make them do it again cuz they're idiots down there and almost always miss something

Yea I didn't beat on the car, so IDK. Hopefuly it goes away that would be great. I got the radio out right now because I'm replacing it, and It does smell the strongest right around the center dash.

The warranty is an aftermarket one so I'm not worried about the dealership, or voiding it.
