Alrighty, I'm going into the dealership this weekend to test drive one and talk to the salesman about buying one. This is the first time I've bought a car so give me all the tips you can. The one I can think of now is not to appear overly excited/enthusiastic about the car.

I have several price incentives already so I'm not sure how much more I can haggle with him.

- GM Supplier discount (4% above dealer cost)
- GM Student Honour Roll discount (GM pays for the first two monthly payments)
- I just got a $750 coupon in the mail today off the price of any GM car.

 

i never bought a car before but from what i read u should watch out for extra stuff they try to throw in that u don't really need.

what kind of cobalt are u going to test drive and if ss s/c which dealer?

 

Just saw that you have the GM supplier discount. I made a whole big post before I saw that. You probably won't be able to get much better than 4% over dealer cost!

courtesy seems alright, that's were i got the equinox from but i've had so many problems when coming in for service, everytime i've gone so far there's been a problem like they broke the bolt cap on one of the wheels, and then they forgot to put the report in the car from the annual check up...

but otherwise, they gave my mom a really good deal on the equinox and a lot of dealers didn't even want to give anything off b/c the equinox just came out then, if u go to courtesy u should talk to joe melino and tell him matt pintar sent u
