View Full Version : Scythe_Snake breaks Dyno Virginity
Scythe_Snake 10-12-2009, 06:51 PM Well, I put my SS/TC on a Mustang Dyno Heartbreaker (so few dyno jets.) at an opening day at Benchmark Performance in Melrose Park, Illinois. The first tune they put it in competition mode and it hit the launch control limiter. This run.....what did I put down? :)

This is a 3rd gear pull. I will post up the 4th gear pull video and dyno sheets and dyno jet number conversions later tonight. :)
EDIT: Well here we go:
This was a bunch of dsm guys who didn't even know the ss/tc existed. The guys said their dyno reads about 25%-30% lower than a dyno jet, and 5%-10% lower than the average mustang dyno. One of the guys talking towards the end of the second video is a guy with a fully built galant vr-4 that hangs out with me a lot. Pics and dyno sheets below.

I wasn't going there to dyno but my DSM buddies wanted to see what I did on this dyno, and least to say I represented the cobalt community best I could. They were impressed and many who wanted to run against me when I got there, retracted their statements. Hope you all enjoyed.

ColeJJones 10-13-2009, 02:49 AM is it worth getting the dejon spring?
tREBs 10-13-2009, 02:51 AM subd for #'s...
OneCOLDBIZL272 10-13-2009, 02:51 AM nice video snake its about time
is it worth getting the dejon spring?
yeah but you can get the same spring from a hardware store for $1.50, thats what I did on my ss/tc. it stop boost from bleeding off so early/ raises the level of where it starts to bleed
pookie025 10-13-2009, 02:51 AM ok whats the stealth tune by trifecta
Scythe_Snake 10-13-2009, 02:51 AM is it worth getting the dejon spring?
Its a small part/supporting mod that just adds and helps out. I would say it is a good 10 bucks. If you want an HKS or whatever then maybe not, but I don't want one with my current set up. :)
nice video snake its about time

Thanks man. And this is true. I bought it for 13 bucks from dejon to support a vendor mostly.
ok whats the stealth tune by trifecta
switchable tune only activated in Competitive mode and ESC T/C mode.
pookie025 10-13-2009, 02:54 AM i have my tune set up like that too but i have the infiniboost with 26 psi. how much boost do u have
ColeJJones 10-13-2009, 02:59 AM so dont run a spring with a bov?
Scythe_Snake 10-13-2009, 04:03 AM i have my tune set up like that too but i have the infiniboost with 26 psi. how much boost do u have
20-21psi
so dont run a spring with a bov?
Its up to you really. You're going to need a black off plate with your BOV anyway.
fakameanrepresent 10-13-2009, 05:11 PM so all with respect to dejon, only install their spring if the T/C is tune for 22+psi?? because the spring will hold the pressure in better??? i'm tune to 22-23psi ish with SRI, i guess its okay to install the spring.
pookie025 10-13-2009, 05:31 PM i have the hks witht the dejon spring and the spring is not supposed to be in there. it is making werid noises like i have the bpv noise and the hks noise. also i have a cel p2261

Without a baseline on that dyno its just random numbers though ;)
You should be around 325-340hp on a dyno jet. You need to find one so you can get some better numbers

Go run your shit at a track, or a different dyno. I need to see this for myself, because I'm totally confused with these numbers.

I lost my cruising buddy. I don't know how to get there :(

Yeah when I get a chance I'll run it on a dyno jet. This was a mustang dyno that they put extra load on. It reads 25-30% lower than dyno jets (according to them) and 5-10% lower than another mustang dyno.
