maf sensor

ok as a few of you know i have had a real bad bogging issue for a long time now with no mil. today i decide to pop the hood and investigate... i unplug the maf sensor and go for a drive. car still runs the same. i shut it off and start it a couple times and drive it again without the maf sensor plugged in. drives the same idles the same. i cant tell a difference pugged in or not. would that mean the sensor is fkd? or does it mean they didnt get it fixed right on warranty when one of the wires in the harness pulled out of the plug? how did the code never come back?

well i cleaned the maf and put it back in and then i unplugged another sensor on the right side of the engine and plugged it back in now it has a constant miss.

Your thread is a bit generic. What engine, etc. Also, if you unplug the MAF and nothing is wrong, then you're either unplugging the wrong sensor or there is something seriously wrong... either way... take it in for a claim.

It may mean the MAF is fucked up or something else is going that the computer doesn't want the car to read the MAF.

throttle body issue are common and can cause this problem.....also could be the fuel filter.

09 2.2 lap 5 speed i know what the maf sensor is gene... to me it seems like it is in speed density mode only with sluggish performance.

there isnt a fuel filter on the 09 cobalts... according to the dealer.

idk how to explain the issue really... its just sluggish it doesnt have the power it did when it was new. the engine noise is like a rattle/piston slap it has a slight stumble/miss every now and then. no service codes are being thrown and when you floor it from a stop it surges through out the rpm range kinda like an intermittent miss
