LED's blowing fuse?

I hooked up only 2 LED's to the accessory adapter buy vampire clipping the positive. The negative I have tried vampire clipping to the negative on the accessory adapter and grounding but I have gone though 4 fuses of different types. The lights will stay on for about 10 seconds than blow the fuse. Looked cool while it lasted though.

are the leds 12 volt? most run at 3v or 4v so you will need to put resistors on them or run several in a series or they will blow when you put them to 12v power source

I think my friend did say they were 12v. Hmm dangit. My friends civic only has two and works fine though. Guess just two different cars?

edit: Nvm you mean they have to be 12v duh. ya they are. we were just dumb and connected the postive and negative to the switch lol.
