I just installed my hahn 3inch catback and it sounds amazing but i noticed that the exhaust vibrates aganist the metal underneath the car. Has anyone else had this problem? The vibrations are audible at idle and when taking off from a stop not while driving.

 

check the install the axle over part is probably not hung right and is bumping against the twisting beam As the exhaust gets hot and grows especially with stainless, it will either stop or get worse...

 

I put a towel rapped around the exhaust at where i thought it was vibrating and it stopped making the noise It turns out its rubbing where the one pipe that connects to the downpipe comes across the body of the car to hook up to the pipe with the muffler. Has anyone else had this problem with hahn catback install on a 07 cobalt ss/sc

 

I just put my Hahn on tonight and it is a pretty tight fit but I have no vibes. Although I did make sure my heat sheid was all the way against the exhaust tunnel since my friend had his exhaust hit on that. So is your heat shield what is hitting it?

 

I had the same problems when I was lowered on my '07 Cobalt SS/SC. What happened was that the Hahn exhaust was hitting the rear cross member. Basically I think its when the rubber parts that hold the hangers get slightly worn out and ultimately "sag". Basically the best bet for you is to rig up another type of mount close to the cross member to lift the exhaust at that point.

 

Problem fixed.... i took some bigger exhaust hangers so the exhaust hangs about a half inch lower. Dosent rub against the heatshield covering the fuel tank.

Here is what is interesting. You put on a Hahn exhaust, nice piece with real good flanges, and a bolt flange at the axle over a real plus.

You lower the car. the relationship of the pipes does not change ANYWHERE on the car, EXCEPT the twisting beam, which pivots in line with its cross beam so that dimension may change .025 inch.

If you assemble the exhaust properly I dont believe it should be an issue. Mine hit the twisting beam at first because I DID NOT INSTALL IT properly. (Caps for emphasis)

I have a CTI 3 inch. FIne piece. GOOD price.
I would like a Hahn 3 inch, a finer piece MORE money.
