Unhappy Check Engion Light came on after intake and new cat back exhause was installed

Okay...here is my problem...I just installed an Injen CAI and the "offical" GM performance cat-back exhaust system on my 2006 chevy coblat ss/sc. Well I took it for a test drive and all seemed well. I drove it a second time and the check engion light came on. If anyone can help I would be very greatful...I really don't want to take it up to the dealership and get them to check it out...last thing I want to here is "well this aftermarket crap broke it...sorry...we are not fixing it."

the dealer can reflash the car and it will go away... not a big deal, very common... use the search button, you will find about 23 billion posts about this.

so the only way to really fix it is to get the PCM reflashed...and that isn't a for sure fix...because it might come on again. What is the point of putting on cold air intake if the car freakin rejects it.

Make sure your CAI is on tight and there aren't any leaks. Usually a autoparts store has scanners they can hook up to diagnosis a CEL. They can usually reset them too.

you can also try disconnecting the battery for a while, put it back on, and go for a drive... sometimes it just takes a while for the car to adjust to everything.

Ive only had my car a day now and my yellow check engine light went on. They checked it, erased it and the light came back on again. They said it may be my cat, and this is stock, right after I left the dealership. I bring it on monday so I will get the whole story and hopefully get it fixed.
So maybe its not your parts you put on that caused it. I dont know.

I am pretty sure its because of the new intake...I really don't know though...I am use to older cars...aka cars with out all the check engion computer stuff...this new computer crap really throws me off. It could be something serious or nothing at all.

Well I will check out some of the threads on cels coming on...hopefully it will just go off after a while. If not I will take it up to the dealer or a repair shop. Thanks for the advice...even though I guess I should have searched a little harder

Let the ECU learn what is going on with the car since you just dramitically changed what was going in and out. Once the ECU understands it, it will adjust itself to meet the new needs and your CEL will go off by itself after a few cycles.

You were right about the light going off...but check this out...I went through 2 tanks of gas and the light stayed on...then I refiled a 3rd time and forgot to screw my cap back on....while I was driving back to my house the CEL went off...I had no idea my cap was off until some lady drove by and yelled at me out her window. I thought the CEL light came on if you left you gas cap off...weird lol...oh well...hopefully it won't come back on...and if it does Ill try driving around with my gas cap off haha.
