What gear is more accurate for dyno pulls?

Okay does anyone know what gear we are supposed to be pulling our dynos in? I know its supposed to be as close as it can get to 1:1 but what gear is it and where can I see that in writing?

I believe it was mentioned that 3rd gear is 1:1 ratio. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l-l61-performance-tech-45/went-dyno-very-upset-21353/

Depends on the transmission.

On the SS/SC 4th gear is closest to a 1:1

4th gear is .98 to 1 ratio which is closest to 1 to 1

on an Auto, 3rd gear is a perfect 1 to 1 ratio

Fourth is probably going to be the most accurate. It really is still far from a 1:1 ratio though.

I've done dyno pulls in third and fourth. I wanted to see for myself, if there was a difference.

Not on my car. I had nearly identical numbers in both gears.

Of course has to be fourth for us 2.2 people, sucks that we cant reach our redline in fourth to properly dyno.

hmph I dont know. 3rd is .18 over and 4th is .11 under. In either you would not get an accurate representation. You would either be over or under rated so I guess if you go to a dyno you should do it with both and consider the median to be your actual power output.

When I did my dyno test, the cobalt didn't like the 4th gear runs. 4th gear puts more stress on the motor due to the lenght of the pull being longer than a 3rd gear pull. Just some advice! Now as far as power goes, 4th gear is going to show less power as well.

Just curious, where did you get that pic? Here's what I found on the Chevy website.

That picture is wrong for the SS/SC. I know for sure that the final drive on the F35 is 4.05, not 3.94...
