GMPP Canada Parts costs

So the quotes are starting to roll in for my car and I had to laugh.

Stage 2 CA$ 1375 vs US$ 686 (I think this one is going to be ordered from the States)
CatBack Sport CA$ 400 vs US$ 480

WTF?!

What ????? you sure that the cat-back cost only 400$ CAD.
I bought mine directly from the US because i was absolutely sure that it was much cheaper.

My dealer quoted me the same price on stage 2, there's no damn reason for them to be gouging canadians like that.

We should complain to GM Canada about their pricing on the staged Kits, and threaten to buy them from the States to get us a better deal up here.

I'm quite sure that won't do much to hurt GM in general

and yes the exhausts are that cheap in Canada. I sold a couple already.

Go to the dealer where you get your service work done. Tell them to give you a good price on the kit or all future service and warranty work will be done elsewhere. It works. I got mine for $1,000. and so did another fellow after he told the parts department the same thing.

Already bought mine out of the states, after exchange, duty and tax should be ~$880 Canadian.

I'm not looking to hurt GM, just want to let them know how stupid they are for such a markup in prices.

No I realize your intent, but what I mean is that few guys buying out of the states isn't really going to let GM know anything or really care for that matter. GM is GM whether in Canada or US, they are still selling that kit. Whatever dealers that aren't selling that kit because of the price difference aren't depending on Cobalt Stage kits to meet their parts bonus quota. But I do agree, GM prices can be very unfair. Oil filters for one...I have a hell of a time trying to sell one over my cost when Walmart sells the same fricken AC filter for less. Hows that for bastardizing the GM parts system. Those are the things that I don't agree with.
