My sunroof will only intermittently vent. It will always open all the way, but sometimes when I push the button in half-way for vent, it does nothing. Later in the day, it will work. So it is hit or miss. (I know there are 2 positions and I have tested them fully)

I took it into the dealer and, of course, when they looked at it, it was working fine. So they didn't replace the button (or anything). They won't replace a part unless they see it broken. When I picked up the car, I tested it in the parking lot and it didn't work. I showed them and they replaced the button. I figured it was fixed.

Yesterday, I tried to vent the sunroof and it didn't work. Opening it all the way does. Later that day, it worked fine.

I know it is not an issue of it not getting enough power or the seal being stuck, because if you open it all the way, there are no issues.

Any one else had this issue and what did the dealer or any shop do to fix it?

What about the constant rubbing noise from the rubber seal on the metal from the sunroof seal on the car body? I can't stand it. Do you guys reccommend any rubber conditioning product that will keep it from making a rubbing noise?

Every bump I hit when the sunroof is closed, it rattles and makes noise. The dealer has fixed it twice and evertime they replace the seals. A week later it starts making noise again.

Any advise would help.

 

have that issue not sure why it does it. I used to think it had to do with speed of the car but lately it seems to work all the time after my stage 2 was installed... dunno if the reflash fixed it.

 

happens to me all the time, and when it's cold the sunroof will not open at all

 

mine did that too. It hasent lately tho *knock on wood*. I think its something in the motor. Occasinally it seems like it shuts slower and others it shuts faster or when it opens to vent it opens slooooooooooow and others fine.

 

Mine did that once for a few hours. Simply would not vent. Hasn't done it since though. Not too concerned about it as it seems to have corrected itself and has not done it since.

As for the rubbing noise, I have not had that problem.

 

I've had this problem too, it's only happened once though, I was leaving work going to pick up the gf. Once I got to her place, I turned the car off and back on, still wouldn't vent. Then I tried it for the hell of it half way back to my place, and it was fine.
