Ok Gm Now I Am Mad!

Well my car had a little oil leak around the cam/valve cover so my dealership ordered the seal kit for me at no cost since they didn't have time to put it on before last Friday.

(Norfolk was host to The Super Reunion 7 put on by Northern Rodder magazine Friday through Sunday.)

As I removed one of the bolts it snapped, luckily it broke high enough that I could remove it with a pliers.

After removing the seal I found two large metal shavings inbeded in the seal, they must have set the seal on a messy table/bench before assembly.

So now I needed one bolt for the cover and I thought it would be as simple as having one shipped next day from GM, damn was I wrong!

GM has zero on stock and two dealers show one on hand, the two dealerships will not respond to the official parts request and GM said it could be 60 days or more before they have inventory.

What a load of ****.

Thank God I got the seal set via dealer parts request because GM didn't have any of those either.

Not cobalt related but Chevy:

I had my truck (04 Colorado) for 2 days and my back left window shattered (Crew Cab) and it took a week and a half for them to order a replacement window from Lansing, MI!!!!!

Needless to say, I was not happy with GM/Chevy delaerships not having parts in!

The problem is with Delphi going under. GM has been struggling to get parts dealers for the past few months. Things are going to be really tight with them for the next few months at least when it comes to getting parts.

It's a bummer to hear everyone is having problems getting parts, it sucks... but thats what is happening.

So now you know!

Don't worry they have parts they just aren't willing to give you one so their production rate can go from 50 jobs an hour to 49.

I'm saying this because I design the conveyor systems that need to make production rate as well as install / troubleshoot them.

At this rate, they'll be lucky to sell 49 - 50 cars...

To add more to the story and bullshit,

I called a Saturn dealership and they could order them stating GM had 35 on hand.

The Chevrolet dealer systems can cross over to Pontiac, Buick and GMC but not Saturn.

What the hell?

when i bought my '03 ram, i didn't like how it had the solid window. so they took it round back slapped a sliding window in and a bedliner and in 3 hours i had my truck back just the way i liked it. that's one of the reasons why i'm so dodge loyal, i figured i'd give chevy a try and so far gm has been nothing but dissapointments.

I think it has more to do with the individual dealers than brand names these days.

I travel every weekend and I know first hand how pathetic some dealerships can be from the parts department to sales.
