2.2 cobalt Automatic superchaged
How fast do you think a auto 2.2 would run at the track supercharged with stock ss/sc parts? Found a totaled ss with intact parts...Half cent said the auto tranny can hold way more then 200HP is this correct?"
I wanted a ss/sc so bad but the dealers raped me for every penny and some change..The Msrp before Gm Discount was $19,999. Then after Gm discount and a few bucks down the ending price was like $17,500 with taxes. Had it about 11 months and they only offerd me $10,000 on dealer trade in. I would loose so much money...They would just add like 6 grand to a new ss'/sc and then my monthly payments would be like over 600 bucks a month. I figured this would be a cool thing to do since no one has ever done it to a 2.2 auto.
How exactly do you plan on getting around the computer issues????? There's no reflash for the 2.2s to make it compatible with a supercharger and no tuning out for it yet. There's a chance you'd have to do some custom fab work to get it to work on the 2.2. I know the airbox and all that stuff is flipped on the SS/SC.
Wasn't trying to be ignorant.
Alleycat is right though- you can't just throw on a S/C and expect it to work- it won't. Until there is a tuner available for our computers, forced-induction is out of the question for our cars. One will be made eventually, but even then expect to shell out some cash. Turbo and S/C kits aren't cheap in the slightest.
What I was getting at was, by the time you spend the money necessary to install F/I on your 2.2 (once it's possible, that is), you will have spent enough all-together to have bought an SS/SC in the first place. I'm beginning to wish I had...

I'll stay on point. Yes, a stock auto can easily handle 200HP no problem. Hell, you could even stage kit the LSJ engine to 250 and still be fine.
You do have the engine management problem however.
And, I don't know if the LSJ bell housing matches the 4T45E.
