HOLD UP!

IF its a SMALL puff you are OK!

the LSJ has oil jets that spray on the pistions....when at low RPM's some oil can/does build up in side the combuston chamber and on the pistion so when you rev it..the puff is that small amount of oil buring off.!

you may also seem some at high revs...i get some around the 7200-7400 mark on my car due to my current tune but once agen its just the engine spraying oil cuz thats what its suposed to do in order to keep it self nice and cool.

I've not seen mine do it ( but I never am behind my car when driving ), but I've seen it on one of our little group's cars when he gets on it hard. I've heard the same thing about it being just part of the car's nature.

As far as the "metal" sound... it could be a heat shield, a broken resonator ( as was with my car ), or something just too close to the exhuast.

Have the dealer check it out next time your in. Call them now and let them know you noticed it NOW, and that way, even if you come in weeks later, it's on record.

Oil sprays on the undersides of the pistons so there is NO WAY that oil is getting burnt...and it is nothing to worry about they all do it...especally when u tune them...Mine smokes but I know its fine...as long as it is black

u always burn some oil...but oil burns blue...and not near as bad as rotarries...ever heard of total seal?

and the squirters spray the undersides of the pistons so that oil is definately not getting into the combustion chamber...unless u have holes in ur piston...then u have bigger problems

Black smoke is unburnt fuel...a fairly common thing on our cars as they do run pretty rich. My old car had a fuel pressure regulator fail that caused it to leak fuel when the car was off. You should have seen the smoke that thing spewed out on cold starts before I got it fixed. Not to mention my emissions were off the chart. As said before, oil burning would give you blue smoke, and while a little oil consumption is ok, our cars really shouldn't be consuming any at all.

For comparison, my old car had an oil gasket that needed replacing, and so it always had a few spots of oil under it, and it still lost less than a quart between changes.

[QUOTE=lildudeus;364468]ok i just noticed today when i got my car back from the dealer for a vibrating metal noise when you hit the gas "i think it was the exhaust or something " i made my brother hit the gas to hear if it would make the noise again and i noticed a black puff of smoke when you hit the gas is this normal or what???? anybody else have this problem ?????[/QUOTE

I had the same problem and if you run high octane and a bottle of octane booster once it will stop but it will start again if you don't keep high octane in it the problem is carbon build up around the valve stems that's what makes it sound like a metal vibration these cars call for 91 octane fuel or this will happen
