Temptation city!

So driving up for another wonderful week in Fort Mac and I came across a section of newly paved highway that I checked runs for 6.2 km by the odometer until the next hill ...

Counting space to brake, thats almost 6000 meters of full speed ... I wonder what I could top out on that ... sucks I was in a company vehicle

Too much traffic and to many RCMP for high speed though.

Get some radios and friends, and place spotters farther up the road. They can warn you about traffic and cops!

Seriously though, I wouldn't do that. It is pretty unsafe.

Traffic sometimes, RCMP rare. 300kms of highway opens plenty of opportunity. 12000 of my kms are from this trip, and I can honestly say I've perhaps seen 15-20 cops. I usually travel mid-week early afternoons with a 6 hour return time. Although the Calgary to Edmonton #2 has at least 5 times more traffic and has alot of speedy drivers!

Otherwise this is more of a few kms "let 'er rip" not being the leader of a 150 kph train!

I just came home from Fort Mac to pick up my new car tomorrow and took 3 hours 20minutes from the airport road to Spruce Grove. No traffic at all except a staging at Grasslands and then after turning off the road past Boyle. Only one RCMP the entire way.
