Hello all. This is my first problem with the car albiet minor.

I was detailing her today and when I got to the wheels I noticed a small chip in the very outer edge of the rim (where it meets the tire) and the tire has a small cut in it. It's like a scab sort of, you can kind of peel it back a little. I am trying to think of a time when I would have hit something (curb) to cause this but I can't think of any. I am starting to think it may have been like this when I got the car about two weeks ago. Do you think this is a warrenty issue that I can take in and get this all replaced or am I just stuck with it. Also do you think something like this hurts the integrity of the tire and rim any?

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

 

The rim is fine. The tire will depend on how deep the gash goes. I've got something similar on my left front tire. As long as you can't see any cords then it's just a flesh wound and won't cause any problems.
