Good price? Please give comments

I am looking into buying a '06 Cobalt SS/SC, 6100 miles, silver, performance package, no sunroof, stage 2, gmpp exhaust. Guy wants 19,500 for it, please post if you think this is a good deal, or what I can try to get him down to for a good buy. Thanks!

I think 19500 is pretty high. Granted it has mods on it, thats the way the market goes...you don't get much back of what you put into it. I priced this out on Edmunds and it says the Private Party Sale would be $18,291. Thats 1,209 less than he is asking. He has MAYBE 900 inbetween the Stage 2 and exhaust (2.25" exhaust by the way). So take half of what he put into it (est $450). I would say $18,740 would be fair.

I thought the GMPP exhaust was 2.5 inch? I thought they run 2.5 inch stock. Yeah, I asked him 18,500 but he really didnt bite. Said he had about 1000 into it. The guy that ownes it is actually a parts manager for a Chevy dealer. I think he will go 19,000, but I dont know how low I should go. I am going to go look and test drive the car tonight. I had my mind set on getting a black one, but if i can get a good deal on this one, I will probably take it.

Yeah, everyone thought it was a 2.5", but in reality its only a 2.25"

18,700 sounds fair, if he doesn't take it, look elseware.

Yeah tell him you will stick with your original plan and buy new, unless he can bump it down a bit so that you can save money. That is why you would buy a used car, to save money. Up to you man. Make him an offer.

Don't forget, new might mean higher sticker, but lower monthly payment because it is new and 0% financing

Ha! Thats a rip! Are you telling me new cars don't lose over $1000 in value just by titling it out and driving it off the lot! You are out of your mind!

I think $19k is a fair price. Not a steal, but a good price.

Do not buy a used sports car with performance mods.

NEVER EVER unless it is like stealing from a blind man and leaves you feeling guilty.

He put performance mods on it.

I don't care if it is 20 miles on the car. He drive those WOT around corners HARD SHIFTING the entire way.

If he wants you to buy it take it to a mechanic and have him make sure this thing is in MINT condition first.

Well they are all mods that are covered under warranty...

none

you guys are CRAZY i just got an 06 SS/Sc with 350 miles fully loaded (without g85) for 20,799 and they wanted 24,300 you should get that thing for like 17,000 stage 2 and exhaust is only 1000 dollars i would buy a new cobalt with UNDER 500 miles and then put stage 2 and better exhaust this dude probably doesnt even have a way of measuring knock PLUS WHY IS HE SELLING IT ???????? 6000 MILES THATS PRETTY NEW I KNOW I WOULD NEVER SPEND 22000 on a car and sell it after 6000 MILES HES FUC*** it up or something i had a gtp with 4 grand in the engine i sold it bc something was messed up and it would be too much to fix rather than just buying a new car

Well I test drove it. Man, it does run good. That stage 2 does make a big difference. The guy said he has 2 kids, that is why he wants to get rid of it. I looked it over good, it looks in excellent shape. I notice 1 small nick in one of the wheels, thats it. Besides that, it is awesome. I wont get it unless he takes 19,000 for it. Any more and I am looking elsewhere.

I'd say $19k is good. Many on this thread seem to think people should give them away.

19k is a good asking price, if the seller goes any lower than he is stupid...

tbh i think ur getting a really good deal if u get it for 19k.. you will pay 24k+ if you bought it new and had those mods installed and ****

buy it for 19k-19.5k
