Very nice... until someone runs into you while you're backing up, or until you fail a safety inspection for not having any white reverse lights.
Guys... the same goes with this that goes for using the nightshades to "black out" the lights. Sure, it looks great for a show... but the lights were put there for a reason, as they are essential for driving at night or in inclimate weather.
Many, many people use reverse lights on a car for visual cues in a parking lot. If someone walking or driving near your vehicle sees your reverse lights on, they'll stop so you can back up. So lets say the pedestrian in your blind spot dosen't see your reverse lights... and keeps walking... you run them flat over... and guess what... it's your fault.
So... in summary... don't be stupid and cover your lights up or black them out... it'll be your ass in the end.

I definetely considered the real uses of the reverse lights and such, but for where i drive and such right now I figured I would just go the whole thing. the nice thing with this vinyl is it isnt premanent. I may toy around with the idea of covering the circles and cutting out smaller circles in the middle to minimize the amount of white on the tails. These are definetely just the first try on it and there are plenty more possibilities. Cuz legal-ness is important as well, and I def dont wanna get rammed for people not looking or paying attention. But I think it is a start for the look I am going for
looks good but if i did something like that though i would install a small fog light under the car on the rear axel for referse light thats also on a switch where u can turn it off if u dont want the light to come on when backing up. just a little idea to keep it legal i know i have seen several trucks do it.
If you go to the bottom of this page you can check what I did with my tail lights. All lights are still very visable, and no problem with the reverse lights.

They are the stock headlights, just painted black, and those taillights look good tinted, I just wanted to go with something different since that is about the only thing out there is to tint the tails, Im still brainstorming ideas on how to keep the functionality of the inner tails but make it look a little better, thanks for all the comments guys

I agree 100% !! I would never cover up my reverse lights. Lets say you are at a red light and the car in front of you stalls or just turned their hazards on and you have to back up to get around them. Well, the person behind you isn't going to notice that you want them to back up and they are just going to start blowing thier horn at you for not moving.
Yeah... I did my tail lights the other day because I was bored. I just went to Walmart and bought some static vinyl tint. Then partied with the hair dryer, soapy water, and a credit card. That is what I got out of it. I am getting my car painted... so it will go with the paint. I am gonna have a transparent pearl black shot over the orange so it is a black orange and some color change to it when the sun hits it.
I like what you did with your lights... how did you get the center red?

i think he used a vinyl overlay
Yup it was a vinyl overlay, he is correct, not too expensive either, still trying to figure out how to use the backup lights a little bit, im really liking the all red though, very clean and smooth, and no problems yet, i know i said yet, but hopefully in the next couple weeks ill redo them so they are a little more legal and warn others as they are supposed to, well see
Thanks man haha, I know I really wish I could come down, that auto-x was so fun to see and will be even sweeter with some balts running it. Damn stupid soccer haha, you guys will have to let me know how it goes and Ill have to meet up with you sometime to show you how they look in person. Thanks again for the help man, have fun on saturday!
My tail lights need to be redone. I figured out on the last one the best way to do it. They look good right now unless you get right up on them. Then you can see some bubbles. So I will hopefully redo them this Friday morning. It cost my 15 bucks to do mine. Just some 20% static vinyl tinting material. My secret weapon on the last one that actually looks good... double sided tape, be amazed! (ooooo's and ahhhh's from the audience)
