Confused....

I see so many topics about clutches, but there isn't a clear cut answer to what one to buy.

My clutch went out tonight, and I need to order one soon.

I am confused as to what I need. I see that Clutch Master has its ups and downs, but so does Spec.

I want either the Spec Stage 2+ or the CMFX300. I am leaning more towards the Spec 2+. Financial reasons wont allow the Spec 3+.

So, what do you as a group feel to be the clear cut answer to out shitty clutches.

That sucks that you have to make a decision right now on what clutch to get. Based on what I have seen I would go with the Spec. I'm waiting around to see what happens with the CM clutches because that is what I wanted.

The only CM that people seem to have troubles with is the FX400. Seems the pressure plate is still too large. If you wanted the FX300, you should be fine if installed correctly. The specs seem to work from what I have heard, after a long break in though. Talking to Rob he said it almost took 5,000 miles before the Spec 3+ was finally broken in and worked flawlessly.

I myself need a clutch ASAP too but I am going to wait for Exedy's.

It seems to me that since CM fixed their clutches, the original ones didn't fit both LSD and non-LSD transaxels, that the only real issues were from people who did their own installs. I sold a FX400 6puck clutch and heard of no issues with it. I know others who are running FX400 6pucks with no issues and I myself will be using a FX 400 4puck clutch when the engine is back.

If you still want your car to be a daily driver don't get a 3 + anyway. I have a Spec stage 2 and it engages twice as fast as the stock clutch. Go with Spec.

How about a Centerforce? They can't be beat. This is a pointless poll.

The idea of the poll was to see what one of the 2 would you choose. Pointless to you, yes. But to me, who needs to buy a clutch, this is helpful - due to my no knowledge of clutches or anything drivetrain related.
