Stage 2 = 275hp or Dealer Lying
GM always rates cars at the crank. they DO tend to be under rated, but it's always at the crank. the 205 HP rating is also, logically, at the crank. stage 2 is supposed to take you to 245 crank HP. assuming the GMPP exhaust does ten horses, lets say that'll be 255crank HP... still no where NEAR 275 as far as ratings go.
the logic is thus, even if it makes 275HP at the crank, the dealer has ZERO right to say so, since they are not the ones that do the offical ratings. at least on a new car. if it was used and there was a dyno sheet to back it up, then maybe.
this is just a dealer doing ricer math.

First dealer I've seen that actually knows that the SS's are underrated. What they should do though, just to keep it simple so when someone asks how it has that power, just take GMs 205hp rating + 41hp (again GMs rating) for stage two and advertise 246hp, which isnt that far off of what it dynos at. 275 is about accurate though for at the crank power on a stage 2, they just cant prove it.

I only put down 213 whp with my stage 2 and a 2.8" pulley (it was a dyno-jet, too). But I think that has more to do with the heat (105 F) and the dyno settings. Those mods plus header, cat-back, and a tune on the same dyno still only got me 236 whp, even the guy tuning offered me a discount because he felt he should of gotten alot more out of my car than that.
Notice they put "full exhaust"? They probably have the GMPP manifold as well as the stage 2 kit plus the cat-back. They're probably figuring 275 flywheel horsepower, but they're still using "ricer math" to do so.
Last Saturday 3 of us local SS/SC's had our cars dyno'd during a locally run Dyno Day. Here are the mods and results...
'05 SS/SC (Mine): 261WHP
Mods: GM Stage 2, K&N CAI, NGK BKR7Es
'06 SS/SC: 226WHP
Mods: Injen CAI
'06 SS/SC: 262WHP
Mods: GM Stage 2, Injen CAI, GMPP Sport Cat-back
These were all done within a couple hours of each other. Another thing to note, I dyno'd my car when it was stock (15,000kms on odometer) and it put down 214WHP.
Sooo, 275hp I would say is just a little high for WHP and a little low for BHP. But it's not too far off. Could that header add a little more than 10whp?

got the site and its one we all love http://www.intense-racing.com go the the store/lsj/performance package ull find it there along with stage 1-5

i don't care if it's a 500hp car. it's not cool to say it has more power than GM says. i'm sure it's against some sort of rule... i'm not debating that the car makes that power or doesn't... in fact as i recall GM has stated that the exhaust and intake are purely cosmetic and make no promises of power gain.
