Radio Volume going up when I accelerate!

I actaully think this is kinda funny but when I stop on in it seems my volume goes up. LOL. When I slow down really fast the volume will go down. Anybody else notice this? I know its really weird.

The radio screen doesn't even show it going up or down.

Gotta love it

The car has a speed-sensitive volume adjustment. You can turn it off if you want, though.

Yeah, that's been a feature on GM cars since the mid 90s, it's called SCV or Speed Compensated Volume. Pretty cool huh?

There's a button you can use to control whether it's off, low, or high.

Its an option for the CD player, lots of new cars got it. I dont know how to fix it but if you read the owners manual about it I am sure it will tell you how to turn in off.

I think that's a very cool feature that GM's had for quite some time.

See the three buttons right below the screen? The one on the far right is the auto volume control.

Racing while on the phone.... Racing is dangerous enough, but racing while on the phone? Now that is just asking for trouble!

The salesman turned that off on my car before I even drove it off the lot. He told me what it did, said it was annoying, and that was the end of that. It does seem like it would be annoying though - if you're talking to someone, the volume would keep going up and up to drown out your voices. And what if you're singing?
