Cracked engine mount

So here's one I haven't seen yet. I was doing some routine cleaning under the hood today and took off the air box to check the air filter. While I was there, I saw a little something out of the corner off my eye...

It's actually cracked on both sides. My crappy cell phone camera didn't show it very well, but its identical from the holes outward to the edge. Guess I'm off to the shop for a warranty repair!

That's too bad. Something must be giving it some extra added vibration.

Hmmm. I guess I should check mine too. That sucks bro. I don't get it. There are SS/SC's with Ingalls torque braces that are just fine........

The ingalls would probably help provent this, since the dampner is actually taking stress OFF the mount.

It is probably a defect in the engine mount. Probably not something the rest of you should worry about.

Got it replaced today. They used a completely new mount design, including the bracket attached to the engine. It now has the same geometery as the LSJ mount (so now the Ingalls torque dampner should fit) and the frame side part of the mount has additional casting bosses right in the location where my old one cracked. You can also now get to the timing chain guide nut without using the cut-off allen wrench. I'm actually really happy with it. And under warranty!

im going to check mine. Half the time when i stop i start hearing the engine. Like it starts rattling the crap out of stuff under the hood. I dunno if it jsut the engine cover is loose or its rattling the hood but im going to look at that mount and see if i can notice anything else on my 2.2

Thats really wierd, you have reduced compression, and an automatic, and i know you dont really beat on your car

Thats a big defect.

On a side note, I broke my second wheel stud last week. Has anyone elses wheel studs been breaking off?

The studs themselves are like 2 or 3$ from Firestone or somewhere like that. Mine looks like the different alloys in the mount are starting to flake apart, the best way to describe it is it looks like a puzzle I'm worried it will crack through all of these line.
