Oil Stabilizer?

Hey,

I use Lucas oil stabilizer in my Wranger and have done so for the last 5 years. My brother recommended it and I haven't had problems ever with the engine on the Jeep.

Should I do this for the Cobalt too? Would it be harmful? Would it be wise?

Thanks,
Keith

Just use a high quality synthetic oil if you want the best protection. Don't bother with additives as they usually don't help very much.

The Lucas thickens your oil which just masks problems such as oil consumption. Thickening of the oil can cause oil starvation when the temperature drops to near freezing.

Get a quality synthetic and go with that. Much better.
