i was on the way home in north dallas at Geouge Bush and Coit Rd. when around the corner came a black skyline!!! i couldnt believe it. i thought for a second that i could catch him and snap a quick pic for you guys, but he didnt stop at red lights. he would quickly cut through the corner gas stations and slam on the gas. once i started to see him again after the first light, i decided that there was no way i could catch him. he was about 1/2 a mile ahead and hauling some serious ass. probably doing 80 in a 40. selfish bastard... anyway what does it take to legalize one of these in the states? i hear its pretty expensive.

one of the guys that works at cobalt-addiction has a 97 skyline gt-s... thing is an animal... but the rh drive thing is just too odd for me

 

yeah matt paid i think 20 k to have it legalized and 30 k for the car itself...kenny wants one....we are looking to get one soon and do that one up too

actually i couldnt see the RHD cause the windows were blacked out. the whole car was except for the brake lights. it made my heart drop though cause you never see them for obvious reasons, and i have never seen one up close like that. pretty crazy. wish i could have raced him just to see him mangle me. then my GF could have taped it. i hope i see him again. if so im taping it!!!

I Checked into it before, legalizing one... I don't remember everything you have to do though. I think you have to put a 5-speed in it - no 6-speed. But like I said, I don't remember that well... it's been... well, it's been since the 1st Gran Turismo came out!!! A LONG time!

My buddy, when we were in Japan, bought a R34 and sent it back to the states. He spent 16K for the car and 9K to ship and convert everything over. He did most of the work himself and the military paid for most of the shipping. I don't think he had to do all that much conversion.

 

You would not believe how many Skylines there are here in Vancouver. I see at least 2 a day. Infact a couple people down my street have them. One black, one brown. They're alright but i've never been a Skyline fan. The right hand drive is pretty trippy though.

 

I'm a friend of SleeperCobaltSC, and I'm gonna try to buy a Skyline. In response to Mines Better's question. They run anywhere from bout 18000 to anywhere from 22-85000. Shipping can be anywhere from about 9000 to (some people say) even 50000, for shipping alone. They are avaliable in Canada, so I have the feeling it might cost less to get one from there.

 

that is b/c canada is a direct shipment between aussie & canada & there are lots of them for sale in aussie.... It would be way more expensive if some company out in Cali hadnt brought a bunch over & crash tested them b/c you would have to prove crash worthiness

i research all this b4 i bought my cobalt there are tons of then in japan for cheap(12g's) & 2g's to ship then there are speed shops that specilize in making them DOT legal in the states...

 

skylines are over rated, unless it was a GT-R u probably would of killed it..
I see 2-3 skylines a day they sell for like 15,000 here..

ok here is an update. i just saw it again and noticed that it IS NOT a guy, its an extremely hot asian chick. she looked even hotter driving that car. and that RHD is pretty sick. odd but sick.

 

Owning a Skyline would be sweet. I've only seen one in person, its by a wheel/tire shop. Everytime I pass by I see it there, maybe next time I'll stop and take some pics.

 

I know someone that imports them here in AZ. His buddy has an R32, it looks pretty sweet.
