Dynoed Lean

Dynoed today and made 232.13 HP and 219.61 TQ @ the wheels. Weather 77.28F 29.51in-Hg, Humidity 45% I have only the mods that are listed in my sig. The car runs lean though. He thinks if we can get it some more fuel Ill see another 15hp. I have read about the HPTuners, but my knowledge with them is very limited it. Can I have GM re-program this for me?? Where I had it dynoed they are a Diablo Sport dealer and said there are no products yet out for it. The air/fuel at 4750rpm was at 14.78 and at 6500rpm it was a little over 14 still. Any suggestions.

gm wont touch it... if they find out you have a diff. reflash you just voided your warranty so there was not point in the stage 2 IMO

maybe a maft will change it enough to help?

You need to get HPTuners because the dealer can't do diddly squat for you. It is easy to richen the car up your self even with little to no experience. IMO order the software and do it your self. Also, the 42's are good to at least 260whp. My car runs 11.7-11.8:1 flat all the way to 7k and I'm running a little over 250whp

Looks like I'll have to set up a dyno day after my new clutch goes in. I'm getting curious as to what my AFR's would be.

I've got a similar set-up to you except I've also got a header and my car was rich off the charts. HPtuners and a guy named Jeremy in Tampa fixed it up for me. After seeing what the a/f was like on my car with the stage 2 tune and then seeing (and feeling) the difference with a custom tune, I feel like I wasted my hard earned cash on the stage 2 kit.

Cobaltburst - I have the GMPP Stage 2 Flash installed now, my dyno shop recomended asking GM if they could custom tune it, but he wasn't sure cause its beta. Since that is now out of the question I am looking for another route, from the feel of the members it will be the HPTuners. After a little research I found that if I buy the HpTuners I can use it on both my Camaro and Cobalt which would be nice since aftermarket computer equipment is so expensive. Thanks for advice everyone

The reason you might be running lean is because of the cold air intake. The stage 2 reflash is tuneed for the stock air box. Try putting the stock one on and you should have no problem. That was the problem with mine.

Same here,, I can't believe I read that you are running lean. The Stg 2 flash is insanely rich, that's why we get away with running the 2.8 pulleys

At any rate, HPtuners is def. the way to go. I hope to have it by next summer, I'd but it now but I really need to pick up some snow shoes soon here

it dosn't void your warranty... gm can refuse work if something breaks as a direct result of your modding.

Do you have a cat? If you got a/f with a cat it's not accurate. The only way to get accurate a/f with a cat would be to get an o2 bung welded in on the down pipe right before the cat.

that doesn't make sense. Not only are you using the gm kit but you have the recommended air intake from aem. It has to be your black bowtie

Can anyone else verify this? When my car was tuned they just stuck what I assumed was the O2 sensor in the end of my tail pipe.

Can you only get a HPTune by ordering the $600 package off their site? Thats pretty pricey to get a tune done =/
