black out tailights

I've seen pics of cobalts with blacked out tail lights. How do i go about doing this? do i paint them and if so what type of paint do i use? Also if i black them out will my spiderlites be pointless to have or will it make them look even better?

to black out taillights you use VHT nightshades. its for offroad use only but do it in light light coats and the light will still shine through when you brake or have your lights on.

I'm not sure if mine is legal, but i did it. The can does say "for off road use only". If your worried about legallity, just dont put a lot of coats on. I put 4 on and it is pretty dark, yet you can see really well with it. I'll get you pics tommorrow.

If you want to get picky, I've read somewhere... probably on here.. that some states require you to have a certain amount of reflective red on the back of the car.

Personally, Im not a fan of tinted tail lights... I've almost rearended a few geniuses during the day, because of their tinted tails. They had WAY to much nightshades on.
